Y-PLAN Global

Building Capacity, Catalyzing Change

Y-PLAN Global is a civic engagement and community development initiative bringing youth and community/civic leaders together to exchange ideas and develop innovative, collaborative solutions to transform our communities and cities.

For over 20 years, the Y-PLAN methodology has invited young people into the heart of community development, providing them with the tools and platform needed to tackle real-world challenges in their communities.

2014 - Y-PLAN Africa

Y-PLAN Global is an exciting, time tested partnership between the University of California, Berkeley’s Center for Cities + Schools and Global Seed. Aligining the Y-PLAN methodology with Global Seed’s three decades of experience leading youth exchange has led to over 20 global exchange programs, working with over 5,000 students and community leaders from four continents and touching thousands of lives.

Our award-winning action research model builds leadership skills and trains participants in creative problem-solving to foster justice and joy in communities across the globe. Throughout these programs, youth and adult allies participate in reciprocal exchange, growing as individuals and as community leaders having worked closely with people different from themselves.
